Everything on the screen, and why it is there.
The rooms, how much room a day has, the Telescope's three panels, and who it is built for.
Friction is a property of the board. Movement is your call.
Friction is real and it is physical. Size parked at a strike, a boundary with absorption behind it, a gate that has to be cleared. It is directional, because what sits above price is rarely what sits below it.
What price does about that friction is the second question, and it is yours. Heavy structure above price tells you where price will meet something.
Compass draws you the terrain and you choose the route.
The most useful sentence is on screen before anything happens.
A typical hour on a board like this one has run about twice as far as it would on a quiet one. That is not a forecast. It is what boards in this state have actually done, measured across a full year on one product, then measured again on a second and a third without letting either borrow the first answer.
Same chart, same entry, different day. On a compressed board you get paid in halves and you stop reaching. On an amplified one you give the trade room or you do not take it.
Most of what people call a bad entry is a good entry sized for the wrong field.
You can act on what you already know.
Every read it carries is on one page, with what it has actually done since, and a bench that keeps testing them after they ship.
A wide day and a quiet day are not the same trade, and most people size them the same. Compass measures how much room the board in front of you has, before anything is on. That sets your size and your stop, which is where the money actually is.
Seven rooms, one read
Each answers a different question about the same positioning. In the product's own words:
- MapThe Map is the read.
- Chart RoomBetaYour own candles, with the board drawn on them.
- ChestWhat you kept. Save it now, write about it later.
- TelescopeThe Compass reads today. The Telescope reads the distance.
- LogbookEvery read it carries, and what each one has actually done since.
- Engine RoomWhere you check the tool's work, and watch what it is trying next.
- Legend151 terms, generated from the software, so it never drifts out of step with your screen.
The Chart Room
BetaThe seventh room is your own candles with the board drawn on them. The King runs through the day as an amber line and dims when it hands over. A second strike close to its size is drawn dashed and called challenged. The other big strikes sit as thin lines, a ring marks where price reached a level, and the three needles or the board sit beside the chart with the orbit watch underneath.
Turn on the flip, the balance and its upper and lower arms, the session's levels, or a log along the bottom of what happened when. Replay any session Compass recorded and step through it a candle at a time. One, two or four charts, one minute to weekly, your own lines and areas on top.
It runs on your own machine, from your own recordings and your own ThetaData options plan. Nothing is hosted and nothing is redistributed. The charts are drawn with TradingView's open-source Lightweight Charts, credited in the room and in the Legend. Members have it now, marked beta.
Gamma is price, vanna is volatility, charm is the clock. Three different reasons a dealer has to trade.
There is a second way to look at all of it. THE PORTHOLE puts the screen your desk has already drawn onto your phone, read only, behind the same key Compass uses.
It carries 4 boards: the Map, the Swing Book, the Telescope and Three Needles. You can ask Compass a question against whatever your desk was last showing, and the answer tells you how old that picture is, in seconds, because a phone is something you pick up hours later.
The phone draws and your own machine computes. The server holds 1 screen in memory, lets it go after 10 minutes, and writes nothing to a disk. No market data reaches anyone who did not produce it on their own machine with their own subscription.
THREE PANELS, ONE ANSWER
Where, whether, and why.
Three panels in the Telescope, read in the order they draw. Together they are the whole of what a swing position needs from a board.
- THE SWING BOOK
- Where. The month, the neighborhood, where each road meets size, and what would end the read. It answers the weeks you actually hold for, not today and not six months out.
- THE HYPOTHETICAL
- Whether. The trade that board describes, labeled and conditional and yours to decline. It declines itself when the distance is too small to be worth a position.
- THE ETERNAL POSE
- Why, and whether it is still true. Your own reasons, written down before you knew how it turned out, and checked against what happened since.
The Swing Book opens on THE READ and closes on a single conditional. The book underneath it sits on the recorded close, because open interest settles once a day. The distances do not. The card tells you which of the two it is using, in words, every time it draws.
The first two describe the board. The third records what you thought about it, which is the only one of the three that is about you.
INSIDE THE TELESCOPE
Write down what you think, before you know how it turned out.
A strike, an expiry, a runway, and your reasons. Set it and it is sealed. No entry price, no size, no profit or loss, on purpose.
The scorecard groups your closed poses by the reason you gave rather than by the symbol, which lets it answer a question no indicator can.
Set one yourself, no account needed→Same chart, same account, a person who can read it.
- The entry, the timing and the size were always yours. What changes is that you make them from the market in front of you instead of from whatever your brain put there.
- Every number sits under the product it was measured on.
- The Record carries the failures at the same volume as the findings, and the bench keeps testing after a read ships.
Built for serious traders
Whether you trade the index options, the liquid single names, or carry the index read into futures and prop, TRT Compass provides dealer-positioning context and shows what a trade off that board would look like, without placing it.
There is a second way to read those 3. THE ROADS puts all of them on one clock, each name's King and each name's price and nothing else on the strip.
Three Needles says whether they agree. THE ROADS shows you the minute they stopped, and how long they have been apart since. It is a switch in Settings and it ships turned on.
Coverage runs across index products and the liquid single names. 33 are selectable, and the recorder banks 40 in the background whether you have them on screen or not. The measured reads fire on SPY only, because every one of their numbers was measured on SPY, and a number measured on one product is not a number about another.
A year of outcomes takes a year
A screenshot is worth the same on day five hundred as on day one. A record is worth more every day.
One paragraph closes every session, written from the session Compass recorded, in the same voice whatever the board showed and whatever the tape did next.
The board opened amplified. A typical hour on an amplified board has run more than twice what today ran. Slower than the board suggested. The board read the day long.
